New Map Added to Lost Buoy Status Page!

You can now access a map that gives you an overview of the starting locations for all 30 Lost Buoys! Just visit our website at www.goyork.org and click on "Lost Buoy Status." At the top of the page, you'll find a light blue box that gives you a link to click on to open the map in a new window.

Thank you so much, this helps when a mother of four is trying to plan "day trips".

One of the Dads had a great suggestion. Could you provide us with the GPS coordinates to the parking areas? For example, if I'm at the Muddy Creek Forks location and want to get to Indian Steps, it would be much easier to put this into the GPS than trying to figure out the directions.

That's a great suggestion! We'll keep it in mind for upcoming guides.

This is our first year doing this and we are loving it! We have gotten lost a few times but still enjoy our "adventures." It would be nice if you couldn't give GPS coordinates if you could give the physical address of the location. Such as Puddle is not at 400 Mundis Race Road but in Southern York.

I tried to find Lake the other day and could not. I thougth maybe if we walked around we could try to find something that sounded right but could not. When I was looking on the map it was not there either. Can anyone help me out? Is there a number you can call when your lost to get help?

Thanks for the suggestion. As the number of in-vehicle GPS units increases, there may be a need to include the coordinates of the parking area. At this time, we sometimes list the main park office address instead of the actual park (e.g., Spring Valley County Park and York County Parks).

Make sure that you are parking in the right parking area for the Lake lost buoy (off South George Street). Some people are parking near Lake Redman and following the clues. If you do this, you'll never find the Lake lost buoy. The buoy is located along the shores of Lake Williams ad can be accessed from the South George Street parking area.
